Cheryl Sevegan, FWN Member and Board of Director for NaFilCo Israel invited Filipina women leaders of Israeli-based Philippine organizations for a Peace Table Discussion in honor of the #WomanSeriously Campaign for global peace and security.
FWN Members Anny Misa Hefti (Global FWN100™ '15, 16) and Cheryl Sevegan (Global FWN100™ '15) of European Network of Filipinos in Diaspora (ENFiD) converged in Tel Aviv, Israel for a roundtable discussion in line with Peace Table's month of WomanSeriously, a global campaign to influence a shift in policy and practice at the global, regional and national levels away from war and toward a durable and just peace.
Cheryl Sevegan, FWN Member and Board of Director for NaFilCo Israel invited women leaders of Israeli-based Philippine organizations for a lively and provocative sharing of experiences. On behalf of Filipina Women's Network, Anny and Cheryl registered the event with WomenSeriously and included Filipina Women's Network Europe as a participating organization. The Peace Roundtable discussion was facilitated by Anny Misa Hefti.
Topics discussed included migration, career and personal derailment, internalized oppression in gender as it affects self-confidence and self-esteem in relation to leadership. The evening culminated in a productive discussion on action-oriented approaches outlining solutions to problems faced by the different groups.
